Diamond Certification and Independent Valuation

A Diamond Grading Report, Diamond Dossier, or Diamond Quality Report is essential when purchasing your diamond. All diamonds larger than 0.50 carats purchased through Monroe Yorke Diamonds will be accompanied by their original grading certificate. An independent appraisal document will also be included with your diamond engagement rings. Monroe Yorke Diamonds provides free appraisals from Symmetry Gemmological and Valuation Services for all white diamond engagement rings with a valuation of $2500 or over.

EXPLANATION OF A CERTIFICATE

Monroe Yorke Diamonds use independent third party laboratories, such as GIA, AGS and HRD and to grade and certify our diamonds. These certificates ensure that the diamond you purchase is the one you receive; verifying that a diamond is genuine and evaluating a diamond’s characteristics. A certificate will provide information on the 4Cs, colour, clarity, carat weight and cut. Information about the diamonds fluorescence, proportions, measurements and finish offer you, the purchaser, complete documentation about your diamond.

DIAMOND GRADING LABORATRIES AND THE CERTIFICATES THEY PROVIDE

At Monroe Yorke Diamonds we want to ensure that your diamond is the high quality stone you expect, so the grading laboratories we choose are GIA (Gemmological Institute of America), AGS (American Gem Society) and HRD Antwerp. It is essential that our customers have peace-of-mind, so every loose diamond your purchase through Monroe Yorke Diamonds has undergone rigorous grading by these laboratories. The laboratories we choose have reached the pinnacle of their field and demonstrate consistent diamond grading and high quality analysis.

VALUATION AND APPRAISAL DOCUMENTS

Shown above is a valuation, or appraisal document by Symmetry. Monroe Yorke Diamonds engagement rings are checked, valued and certified by an independent Gemmologist and Registered Valuer. Monroe Yorke Diamonds uses Symmetry (www.symmetry.net.au). Symmetry is one of Australia’s leading independent jewellery valuers registered and endorsed by the National Council of Jewellery Valuers (NCJV.)

An appraisal (or valuation) is a document stating the approximate retail replacement value of an item and is usually necessary for insurance purposes. In case of loss, theft, or damage, your insurance company will use the appraisal to provide an equal replacement of your item. In addition, your insurance company will also calculate your premium based on the retail replacement value in the appraisal. At your request, Monroe Yorke Diamonds will engage Symmetry to provide a complimentary professional appraisal on diamond engagement ring purchases.

What's in a Symmetry Appraisal?
