Our expert jewellers create stunning custom designs — from subtle modifications to completely bespoke creations.
For most engagement rings between half a carat and a carat and a half, four claws are enough. Once the centre stone moves past 1.5 carats, the maths starts to shift. The diamond is heavier, the lever arm at the top of each claw is longer, the metal has to work harder to keep the stone in place after years of wear. Six claws split the load. That's the only reason this ring exists.
The Daylin is the most classical 6-claw setting we make. The claws are slim and equally spaced, sitting at sixty-degree intervals around the centre stone. The band is rounded, fractionally taller than the Maria's, which gives the claws their proper anchoring depth. Nothing else is happening on this ring. It is solitaire, deliberately.
Choose 14ct gold (slightly harder, paler colour) or 18ct (richer colour, slightly softer) in white, yellow or rose. The 14ct white gold at $2,269 is the most wearable everyday option. The 18ct yellow gold at $2,779 is the most traditional engagement ring colour. If you want platinum, the Daylin Platinum is the same design in 950 platinum at $2,959.
Every Monroe Yorke ring goes through ten distinct stages over four to eight weeks. Design refinement. Three-dimensional modelling. Casting. Stone sourcing. Cleaning. Polishing. Setting. About eight hours of bench-level finishing. Quality control. And the final approval our master jeweller signs off himself. Made in Australia, ten stages, no shortcuts.
The setting starts at $2,269. Your centre diamond is priced separately, GIA or IGI certified, chosen in step two.
You want a solitaire and your centre diamond is in the 1.5 carat to 3 carat range. The six claws give you better long-term stone security than a four-claw setting at this size. If your centre is below 1.5ct, the Maria 4-claw at $1,995 is the cleaner-looking option.
The 6-claw design also reads as a slightly larger centre stone than the same diamond in a 4-claw, because the claws frame the diamond's edges from more angles. Customers who choose 6-claw often tell us their friends ask what carat the centre is, then double the answer.
