The pear cut is one of the oldest diamond shapes still in common use. It's a hybrid: round brilliant faceting on the curved end, marquise-style faceting at the point. Worn with the point facing the wearer's fingertip, it elongates the finger and reads larger on the hand than a round of the same carat weight. The Dune takes this shape and surrounds it with a delicate halo of small accent diamonds, framing the centre stone like a crown.

The halo is the structural detail worth pointing at. Most halos around a pear cut are uneven (smaller stones around the curved end, larger toward the point) because the pear's geometry isn't symmetrical. Ours uses graduated micro-claw setting that distributes the halo evenly around the perimeter so the eye reads a single continuous outline. The accent diamonds are F or G colour, VS clarity, set so they sit flush with the metal.

Available in 14ct yellow, white or rose gold, with a natural or lab grown centre diamond. The pear cut wears longer on the finger than most other shapes, so the metal choice has more visible impact than it would on a round brilliant. White gold reads cleanest under the halo. Yellow gold gives the most flattering warm contrast against a colourless centre stone. Rose gold is the soft, modern choice.
