A solitaire whose band interlaces, inspired by the Celtic knot
A Celtic knot has no beginning and no end. Arlana borrows that idea rather than copying it: the band splits into two polished strands that cross over one another beside the centre stone and run back into a single shank. It is an interlace, not a reproduction of traditional Celtic knotwork, and the difference is what keeps it wearable as an everyday ring rather than a costume piece.
The round brilliant sits in a four claw setting where the two strands meet, lifted just clear of the crossover so light reaches it from underneath. Centre diamonds run from 0.30ct to 2.10ct. The setting also takes oval, cushion and pear if you would rather not have a round stone.
The band carries no diamonds, which is deliberate. A Celtic diamond ring works because the eye follows the line of the metal, and small stones set into that line break it up. Leaving the strands plain and highly polished is what makes the interlace read from across a room.
Choose 14ct or 18ct gold in white, yellow or rose, or 950 platinum. Monroe Yorke is engraved inside the band. Choose a natural centre diamond, GIA certified, or lab grown, IGI certified. Both are sourced at the highest cut grade their respective labs award. The price difference between natural and lab grown is typically forty to sixty per cent at the same carat weight.
