A study in modern restraint
The Briar is an oval bezel solitaire. A single oval diamond surrounded by a slim polished band of gold, no claws, no separate frame. The bezel encloses the stone in a continuous metal edge that reads as part of the diamond's outline rather than as a setting.
Bezel setting is the most secure mounting for an engagement ring. The diamond cannot catch on clothing or hair the way a claw-set stone can. The edges sit flush with the band. For a ring worn every day for decades, this matters more than aesthetic flourish.
The low-profile silhouette of the Briar is the design intent. From the side, the ring sits almost flat against the finger. From above, the diamond is the only visible detail. There is no other ornament. It is the engagement ring for the customer who wants the diamond to be unmistakable and the metal to be invisible.
Available in 10ct or 14ct gold (white, yellow or rose). The 10ct option is the most accessible price point we sell at, and it wears noticeably harder day-to-day than 18ct. The 14ct is the considered middle path: richer colour, still very wearable.
Every Monroe Yorke ring goes through ten distinct stages over four to eight weeks. Design refinement. Three-dimensional modelling. Casting. Stone sourcing. Cleaning. Polishing. Setting. About eight hours of bench-level finishing. Quality control. And the final approval our master jeweller signs off himself. Made in Australia, ten stages, no shortcuts.
The setting starts at $1,809 in 10ct gold, $2,119 in 14ct gold. Your centre diamond is priced separately, GIA or IGI certified, chosen in step two.
Who this ring is for
You don't want a traditional engagement ring. Claws look fussy to you. Halos look ornate. You want the diamond to speak for itself and the metal to disappear. The Briar is the design that does that most cleanly.
