A princess cut is cut square and left square, and it needs its corners protected. Chester does that with V-claws, which wrap each corner rather than sitting on top of it. The band tapers as it reaches the setting, so the stone looks wider than the metal carrying it. There is nothing else on this ring. That is the point of it.
Seven metals, one design
Chester is made in 14ct and 18ct white gold, yellow gold and rose gold, and in 950 platinum. 14ct is harder and costs less. 18ct carries more colour, which shows most in yellow and rose. Platinum is the heaviest on the hand, and it's naturally white rather than plated white, so it doesn't fade.
Whichever band colour you choose, the V-claws holding your centre diamond are white gold or platinum. White metal disappears against a colourless stone, so the diamond looks whiter and larger than it would in yellow claws. On a solitaire, where there is nothing else to look at, that matters more than usual.
The centre diamond is yours to choose
This is sold as a setting. The centre stone isn't included, and that's deliberate. You choose it at the next step from princess cut diamonds we've hand-selected against our light-performance standard. Natural stones come GIA certified, lab grown come IGI certified, and every one is graded Excellent or Ideal for cut. Nothing below that gets into a Monroe Yorke ring, because cut is what decides whether a diamond gives the light back or lets it fall through the bottom.
A solitaire hides nothing. Every dollar goes into the stone rather than into accent diamonds, and the stone is the only thing anyone looks at, so the grade does all the work.

We don't keep Chester on a shelf. Each one is made to order and hand-finished by our master jeweller. Setting a princess cut takes more care than a round, because a squared corner is the most vulnerable part of any diamond and the claws have to sit exactly right.
