A rub-over setting wraps metal right around the girdle of a diamond. The Riley only does it halfway. Two ends of the band rise up and close over the sides of the stone, leaving the front and back completely open.
That's the whole design decision. A full rub-over protects the stone but shuts light out from the sides; four claws let light in but leave the girdle exposed. Halfway keeps the protection where a ring actually takes knocks, on the sides, and leaves the openings where light does the most work.
Forty-two accent diamonds run along the shoulders, 0.38ct in total, carrying the line up into the two rising ends so the metal never reads as bare.
The two ends have to be formed and finished as a matched pair before the centre goes in, because once the stone is seated neither side can be reshaped. Any difference between them shows immediately from above.
Available in 14ct or 18ct white, yellow or rose gold, or 950 platinum. The setting is always white gold or platinum, whatever the band.

Care & warranty
Everyday wear
Your ring is hand-finished for daily wear. Take it off for the gym, contact sports, gardening, and heavy manual work. Diamonds are the hardest natural material but can chip on impact against another diamond or a metal surface. Chlorine from pools accelerates gold's oxidation over years, rinse the ring after swimming.
Cleaning at home
Weekly: warm water, a drop of mild dish soap, a soft toothbrush, and pat dry. Focus on the underside of the centre diamond and behind the setting, where skin oils collect and dull the light return.
Professional maintenance
Every 12 to 18 months at any of our four showrooms. Included in the lifetime warranty at no cost. We ultrasonic-clean, re-tip any worn prongs, polish the band, and inspect the setting under 10x loupe.
Resize policy
Complimentary resize within 60 days of delivery. After 60 days, resizes are $180 within Australia (we cover return shipping both ways). Turnaround is five to seven business days.
Warranty scope
Lifetime warranty covers workmanship, prong integrity, and metal wear. Does not cover accidental damage, loss, theft, or wear from harsh chemicals. Every warranty claim starts with a free inspection at any of our four showrooms or by mail-in.
