Ariel - Round Brilliant Diamond Split Band Engagement Ring

Ariel splits the band and lets the two arms twist past each other under the centre stone, with diamonds set along the opposite arms. From the top it reads as a clean solitaire. Turn the hand and it isn't one. That's the whole idea, and it's why people who don't want an obvious ring tend to stop on this one.

Seven metals, one design

Ariel is made in 14ct and 18ct white gold, yellow gold and rose gold, and in 950 platinum. 14ct is harder and costs less. 18ct carries more colour, which shows most in yellow and rose. Platinum is the heaviest on the hand, and it's naturally white rather than plated white, so it doesn't fade.

Whichever band colour you choose, the claws holding your centre diamond are white gold or platinum. White metal disappears against a colourless stone, so the diamond looks whiter and larger than it would in yellow claws.

The centre diamond is yours to choose

The centre stone isn't included in this price, and that's deliberate. You choose it at the next step. Ariel takes a round, oval or cushion cut, all hand-selected against our light-performance standard. Natural stones come GIA certified, lab grown come IGI certified, and every one is graded Excellent or Ideal for cut. Nothing below that gets into a Monroe Yorke ring.

The split band

Twenty-two round brilliants are micro claw set along the twisted arms, 0.20 carats in total. You can have these in natural or lab grown. Natural sits at F to G colour, lab grown at D to E, both VS clarity.

Made to order in our Australian workshop

We don't keep Ariel on a shelf. Each one is made to order and hand-finished by our master jeweller. A split band is fiddlier to make than a plain one and there's no way to rush it. It arrives with our Lifetime Warranty and free insured shipping anywhere in Australia.

Care & warranty

Everyday wear

Your ring is hand-finished for daily wear. Take it off for the gym, contact sports, gardening, and heavy manual work. Diamonds are the hardest natural material but can chip on impact against another diamond or a metal surface. Chlorine from pools accelerates gold's oxidation over years, rinse the ring after swimming.

Cleaning at home

Weekly: warm water, a drop of mild dish soap, a soft toothbrush, and pat dry. Focus on the underside of the centre diamond and behind the setting, where skin oils collect and dull the light return.

Professional maintenance

Every 12 to 18 months at any of our four showrooms. Included in the lifetime warranty at no cost. We ultrasonic-clean, re-tip any worn prongs, polish the band, and inspect the setting under 10x loupe.

Resize policy

Complimentary resize within 60 days of delivery. After 60 days, resizes are $180 within Australia (we cover return shipping both ways). Turnaround is five to seven business days.

Warranty scope

Lifetime warranty covers workmanship, prong integrity, and metal wear. Does not cover accidental damage, loss, theft, or wear from harsh chemicals. Every warranty claim starts with a free inspection at any of our four showrooms or by mail-in.
