A split band does something a plain one can't. It parts either side of the centre stone and lifts it clear, so the diamond sits framed by open space rather than pressed into metal. Ceduna runs accent diamonds down both halves of the split and rings the centre with a halo, so light comes at the stone from every direction.
Seven metals, one design
Ceduna is made in 14ct and 18ct white gold, yellow gold and rose gold, and in 950 platinum. 14ct is harder and costs less. 18ct carries more colour, which shows most in yellow and rose. Platinum is the heaviest on the hand, and it's naturally white rather than plated white, so it doesn't fade. On a split band there's more metal on show than usual, so the choice reads more strongly here than on a plain solitaire.
Whichever band colour you choose, the halo and setting are white gold or platinum. White metal disappears against a colourless stone, so the halo reads as light rather than metal, and the centre diamond looks whiter and larger.
The centre diamond is yours to choose
This is sold as a setting. The accent diamonds are included, the centre stone isn't, and that's deliberate. You choose it at the next step from diamonds we've hand-selected against our light-performance standard. Natural stones come GIA certified, lab grown come IGI certified, and every one is graded Excellent or Ideal for cut. Nothing below that gets into a Monroe Yorke ring, because cut is what decides whether a diamond gives the light back or lets it fall through the bottom.
A halo suits a smaller centre stone particularly well, so this is a design where your budget can go further than you'd expect.
The split band and the halo
Between them, the halo and the two halves of the band carry 0.50 to 0.65 carats of round brilliants across 38 to 48 stones, micro claw set so there's as little metal as possible standing between them and the light. You can have these in natural or lab grown. Natural sits at F to G colour, lab grown at D to E, both VS clarity.
Made to order in our Australian workshop
We don't keep Ceduna on a shelf. Each one is made to order and hand-finished by our master jeweller. A split band takes longer to finish than a plain one, because both halves have to meet the setting cleanly and every accent stone sits on a curve. It arrives with our Lifetime Warranty and free insured shipping anywhere in Australia.
