An emerald cut diamond doesn't ask for attention. It commands it.
The emerald cut is the most architectural of all diamond shapes. Step-cut facets, a rectangular outline, an open table that lets you see straight into the stone. It doesn't sparkle the way a round brilliant does. It flashes. Long, slow, mirror-like flashes when the light shifts. Different from a brilliant. Some customers prefer it.
This ring sets the emerald cut as a true solitaire. No halo, no shoulder accents, no design competing with the centre stone. Just the cut and the metal, with the diamond elevated above the band so light enters cleanly from every angle.
The centre diamond is lab grown, IGI certified, sourced at the Ideal cut grade. At larger sizes (3 carat and above) the lab grown version of this stone runs roughly half the price of natural. Many of our customers spend the saving on the metal upgrade or a wedding band to match.
Choose your carat from one to four, and your metal in 10ct, 14ct or 18ct, in white, yellow or rose gold. We make this ring most often in 18ct white gold with a 2 or 3 carat centre. The white gold doesn't compete with the diamond. The larger carat lets the emerald cut's geometry breathe.
Every Monroe Yorke ring goes through ten distinct stages over four to eight weeks. Design refinement. Three-dimensional modelling. Casting. Stone sourcing. Cleaning. Polishing. Setting. About eight hours of bench-level finishing. Quality control. And the final approval our master jeweller signs off himself. Made in Australia, ten stages, no shortcuts.

An engagement ring is the only piece of jewellery most people will wear every day for the rest of their lives. That's a long time to wear something — so it has to be made properly. Every Monroe Yorke ring is crafted by hand, by a Master Jeweller, in our Sydney atelier.
We start with a recycled gold or platinum ingot, hand-shape the band, then a Quality Control Specialist places each diamond by hand under magnification. The centre stone is checked for fit, the prongs are formed and burnished, and the ring is polished to a mirror finish before its final inspection.
The result is a ring you can wear gardening, swimming, sleeping, and signing important papers — and still feel beautiful in twenty years. That's our definition of an engagement ring done properly.

Questions worth asking.
Yes — they're chemically, physically and optically identical to mined diamonds. They have the same 10/10 hardness, the same brilliance, the same fire. They're tested and certified by the same gemological institutes (IGI, GIA). The only difference is that they're grown above ground in a controlled environment over weeks, instead of formed underground over billions of years.
Lab grown diamonds skip the multi-billion-year geological process, the extractive mining, and several intermediate steps in the supply chain. The result is a stone of equivalent (or higher) grade at typically 40-60% less than a mined equivalent. You can either buy a much larger stone for the same budget, or pocket the difference and have a beautiful ring at a more accessible price.
Yes — your Monroe Yorke ring includes complimentary resizing within 60 days of delivery. Solitaire and halo settings can typically be resized up or down by 2 sizes safely. We recommend ordering a complimentary ring sizer first (free, ships in 2-3 days) so you nail it first time.
Every ring is hand-finished to order in our Sydney workshop. Standard lead time is 42 days from order confirmation — that includes sourcing the centre diamond, fabricating the setting, setting the stone, and final inspection. If you need it sooner for a specific date, contact us about priority craft options.
