14ct White Gold
How to choose your metal

Every option is hand-finished in our Australian workshop. The difference comes down to purity, weight and longevity.

  • 950 platinum · 95% pure · Naturally white and hypoallergenic. Never needs plating. The densest metal we work with, so it feels heaviest on the hand. Most enduring choice for daily wear.
  • 18ct gold · 75% pure gold · The traditional standard for fine Australian jewellery. Richer colour, heftier feel. Our recommendation for engagement rings and heirloom pieces.
  • 14ct gold · 58% pure gold · Slightly harder alloy than 18ct, priced a step below. A practical middle ground when durability matters as much as purity.
  • 9ct gold · 37.5% pure gold · The hardest gold in the range and the most affordable. Ideal for everyday chains, pendants and pieces that take heavier knocks.

On colour

  • Yellow gold deepens naturally with age and needs no plating.
  • White gold is rhodium-plated for its bright finish. Re-plate every 2 to 3 years at our workshop.
  • Rose gold deepens slightly with wear. No plating needed.

Which to pick if...

  • Wedding ring worn daily: 950 platinum
  • Engagement ring: 18ct gold, or platinum if you want maximum enduring wear
  • Everyday chain or pendant: 9ct for durability, 18ct for finer finish
  • Sensitive skin: platinum or high-karat yellow gold (avoid rhodium-plated white gold if you react to nickel; some rose gold alloys can react to copper sensitivity)

Natural
Natural vs Lab
Natural and lab-grown, both are real diamonds.

Same crystal structure, same hardness, same brilliance. The difference is origin.

  • Natural diamonds, formed deep in the earth over billions of years. Retain resale value longer.
  • Lab-grown diamonds, grown above ground in months, chemically identical. Often lets you fit a larger or higher-grade stone within the same budget.
iThis choice applies to the 16 pavé diamonds on this setting (0.32ct total). Your centre diamond, natural or lab, is chosen separately in Step 2.

A round brilliant centre, framed by small diamonds running down the band

The Spring is a solitaire engagement ring with quiet detail. A round brilliant centre diamond, four-claw set, elevated above the band so the light enters cleanly. Down each shoulder of the band, a row of small accent diamonds runs about two centimetres before disappearing into the polished metal. From a distance, this reads as a solitaire. Up close, the band catches light along its length.

The shoulder accents are micro-claw set so they sit flush with the metal. No raised stones, no catching on clothing or hair. Each accent is F or G colour, VS clarity, chosen so they match the centre stone's grade. The eye reads them as a continuous run of brightness rather than as separate diamonds.

Available in 14ct or 18ct gold (white, yellow or rose) or 950 platinum. Choose natural diamonds (GIA certified) or lab grown (IGI certified) for the centre. Both are sourced at the highest cut grade their respective labs award. The price difference between natural and lab grown is typically forty to sixty per cent at the same carat weight.

Every Monroe Yorke ring goes through ten distinct stages over four to eight weeks. Design refinement. Three-dimensional modelling. Casting. Stone sourcing. Cleaning. Polishing. Setting. About eight hours of bench-level finishing. Quality control. And the final approval our master jeweller signs off himself. Made in Australia, ten stages, no shortcuts.

Who this ring is for

You want a solitaire but not just any solitaire. The shoulder accents are the detail that separates this ring from the plain-band versions. They give the band visible diamond presence without competing with the centre stone. Customers who choose Spring tend to value design considered for the long view, not the obvious one.

If you want the pure solitaire with no shoulder accents, look at Love or Maria. If you want the diamonds to run further down the band, see Clover. If you want the platinum version, see Spring in Premium Platinum.

Our Diamond Standard

Cut for perfect light return.

The single standard every diamond we set has to meet, whether it's your centre stone or an accent.

Excellent cut

Excellent cut natural or Ideal cut lab. The single most important factor in how a diamond returns light. A great cut in a modest colour outperforms a poor cut in a top colour every time.

Symmetry & polish

Excellent symmetry, excellent polish. The finishing decisions the cutter makes after the cut is done. Determines whether the light comes out clean or scattered.

No fluorescence

None or Faint only. Strong fluorescence can make a diamond look milky or hazy in daylight. We hand-select stones with clean fluor grading.

Colour, honest

D to G natural. D to E lab-grown. The colour range where a diamond reads white to the naked eye without paying for grades you cannot see.

Common Questions

Your questions, answered.

Ring information reviewed August 2026

Why is the centre diamond bought separately?

Two reasons. Choice, the centre diamond is the single biggest variable in the ring's final look and price. Buying setting and diamond as one bundle means compromising on one to save on the other. This way you match the diamond exactly to your budget, taste, and the recipient's preference.

And speed, the setting can start being made the moment you order Step 1, while you take your time choosing the diamond.

Why do larger ring sizes cost extra?

More precious metal, more setting time. Sizes above the standard range use noticeably more gold or platinum and need extra finishing hours to keep proportions right. The exact supplement shows next to the size the moment you select it, and again as its own line in the running total.

What if I pick the wrong centre shape now?

You can change it up until you commit to a specific diamond in Step 2. Your shape choice on this page pre-filters the diamond search to speed things up. If you land on the search and change your mind, change the filter and the setting adapts.

Can I mix natural and lab-grown diamonds?

Yes. Your centre diamond can be natural or lab-grown regardless of any accent diamonds on the setting. All combinations are supported.

Can I see this ring in person?

Yes. Book a private appointment at any of our four Australian showrooms, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth.

How long from order to delivery?

Six weeks from the moment your order is confirmed. Includes the six workshop stages plus insured overnight shipping.
