What's the difference between natural and lab-grown diamonds?
A natural diamond formed deep in the earth over billions of years. A lab-grown diamond was created in a matter of months in a controlled environment that does what the earth does, just faster. Both are real diamonds, chemically and optically identical, with the same hardness ranking of 10. A lab-grown diamond typically costs 40 to 60 percent less for the same size and quality.
What are the 4Cs of a diamond?
The 4Cs are cut, colour, clarity and carat. Cut describes how well the diamond has been shaped to return light, and it matters more than any other grade. Colour measures how close to colourless a white diamond is, from D downward. Clarity measures the tiny natural marks inside the stone. Carat is the diamond's weight.
How long does a Monroe Yorke ring take?
Four to six weeks from the day you confirm your centre diamond. Every ring is finished by hand for the person who'll wear it, so we don't keep inventory the way a chain jeweller does. Most clients tell us the wait is part of what makes the ring feel personal.
Should I choose a natural or lab-grown diamond?
Both are real diamonds. Same hardness, same fire, same chemistry. Natural diamonds carry the romance of having taken billions of years to form, and tend to hold their resale value better. Lab-grown diamonds typically cost forty to sixty percent less for the same size and quality.
Is the diamond included in the price shown?
The price you see is for the setting only, the ring itself in your chosen metal, finished and ready. The centre diamond is selected separately, so you can choose exactly the stone you want.
Can I customise a ring from the collection?
Yes, and most clients do. Different metal, claw count, band width, hidden halo, mixed metals. Small modifications are part of the normal process. Larger changes are handled through our custom service, with 3D renders before you commit to anything.
Do you make bespoke engagement rings?
That's a significant part of what we do. You bring a sketch, a Pinterest board, a description, or a stone you've inherited. We sketch a design, render it in 3D, refine until it's right, then make it. There's no design fee for bespoke work.
What if it doesn't fit when she sees it?
Complimentary resizing within 60 days of delivery. We can usually go up or down two sizes without a problem. If you're proposing and want to be safe, choose "not sure" at checkout and we'll send a ring sizer with your ring.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Afterpay and Zip at checkout for smaller pieces, and an internal six-month interest-free arrangement on larger commissions. For substantial bespoke pieces we can discuss longer plans privately.
